In order to promote the concept of hygiene and sanitation, the Government of Bangladesh has established a network of public toilets (also called toilets) to provide a public forum for people to wash their bodies and use the toilet. The aim of the program is to provide a clean and hygienic environment to all users, regardless of their social status or economic background. The program was launched on April 25, 2012, by the Minister of Water and Sewerage, Mr. M Kiblad, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Mr. A M Zawil, and the Minister of Youth Affairs, Mr. M Yunus.
